a/k/a Hamilton "Bob" Camp, or simply Bob Camp, English-born American singer, songwriter, actor and voice actor known for co-writing (with Bob Gibson) such songs as Simon and Garfunkel's "You Can Tell The World" (1964) and Judy Collins' "Ten O'Clock All Is Well" (1963), and for writing "Pride Of Man", recorded by both Gordon Lightfoot and Quicksilver Messenger Service. He was also the voice of Fenton Crackshell, aka GizmoDuck, on the Disney animated series DuckTales.

Jackson Carey Frank (March 2, 1943 – March 3, 1999) was an American folk musician. Although he released only one official album in his lifetime and never achieved much commercial success, he is reported to have influenced several better-known singer-songwriters such as Paul Simon and Nick Drake.

His eponymous 1965 album, "Jackson C. Frank", was produced by Paul Simon while the two of them were also playing folk clubs in England. Although Frank was well received in England for a while, in 1966 things took a turn for the worse as his mental health began to unravel, and his subsequent career took a plunge.

Frank died of pneumonia and cardiac arrest in Great Barrington, Massachusetts on March 3, 1999, at the age of 56.

Back in 1964, folk label Elektra released an LP called The Blues Project, an anthology featuring such big names (in the folk scene at least) as Dave van Ronk, Geoff Muldaur, Spider John Koerner, and Danny Kalb (who went on to found a band called the Blues Project). And then there was one song by a guy named Ian Buchanan, who promptly disappeared from view… hence the title of this, his only LP. It came out in 1969, but the sound is more pre-1966 – very little of the juiced-up blues-rock pyrotechnics of groups like Cream; this is mostly understated and rather old-timey, although not as retro as Ry Cooder or Leon Redbone. Buchanan provides most of the lead guitar, which is not bad but not outstanding, and most of the lead vocals, which are frankly not great; he sings thinly, with a tendency to yelp, although sometimes he does a back-of-the-throat thing that’s kind of interesting. There’s some pretty good harmonica, and the rhythm section is fairly basic. The track selection is nice; the ones that stand out the most are “Tombstone”, with slide guitar and highly echoed vocals (neither by Buchanan); a sparse and haunting treatment of Robert Johnson’s “Me and the Devil”; and “Desert Blues”, a highly camped-up version of an old cowboy song by Jimmie Rodgers. Whatever happened to Ian Buchanan after this LP is not generally known.

Очередной  редкий, видимо единственный альбом на христианскую тему, к тому же концептуальный, как следует из пояснения на обороте обложки (о неком молодом человеке, живущем грустно и одиноко до той поры, пока не понял, что любовь к Господу есть путь к просветлению, но вот как он шёл к этому пониманию и есть настоящая драма). Опять же, исходя из текста на том обороте, к созданию альбома, да и то некоторым образом, причастны Steve Edmonds, Bob Edmonds, Ian Middlemass, Don Knowles, Paul Middleton, а вместе с ними ещё и Chris Griffiths, Anne Henderson да Gavin Hewitt, но музыкальная специализация хотя бы одного из них не указана. Авторские права на все остальные подробности создания релиза принадлежат заведению "The Generation Club" города Durham City, который, кстати, есть и в американском штате Северная Каролина, но поскольку на обложке обозначен адрес этого клуба, то становится понятным, что речь идёт об административном центре одноимённого графства в регионе Северо-Восточная Англия. Между тем рецензентами, помимо чрезвычайной редкости, материал альбома признаётся как очень хороший psych/folk

Только за одно придуманное оригинальное название своей группы эти парни из штата Огайо заслуживают «десятки». Не пробуйте сходу произнести его, это санскритское слово, при переводе абсолютно равное заглавию единственного альбома коллектива, изданного частным образом на лейбле «Rite Record Productions» в городе Цинциннати того же штата. По словам участников группы: «Мы выбрали это довольно уникальное имя потому, что оно отображает то, что мы нашли истинным, когда начали видеть мир глазами Иисуса Христа». Guitar player from Egypt. Born in 1945, he was tragically killed in a car accident in 1981.After a few years of playing parties and small clubs, he was invited by Abdel Halim Hafez to play electric guitar with his Oriental Orchestra. He then hooked up with Oum Kalsoum and her orchestra. In 1973 he moved to Lebanon where he began making his own records and this continued until 1981.He was also an actor, starring in several Egyptian, Lebanese, and Syrian films in the 1970s and early 1980s. It is believed that he composed music for over 40 films.

NAOMI and The BOYS were one of the most popular and successful pop bands in Singapore and Malaysia in the 1960's.

This album has conspicuously little cache for a record as good as it is. Known primarily only among collectors, it has been a delightful little secret that really deserves to be spread around. I call it progressive flavored A.O.R., with a mix of soft and hard material, good guitar, organ, and great vocal harmony. To me, fully 8 of the 10 tracks presented rate pretty good or better, with “Breath Deep” my personal fave. Grab this one while reasonably priced copies aren’t too hard to find. (tymeshifter RYM)

Jake Jones was originally from St. Louis, Missouri and released two albums on Kapp Records in the early seventies. No one in the group was actually named "Jake Jones". 

 I recently heard from Phil Jost of Jake Jones. He supplied the following update about the group. 

 Chuck Sabatino had a stroke while playing for Mike MacDonald in Los Angeles in 1994. A benefit was put on at Mississippi nights in 1994 for Chuck by many of his friends and former bandmates. He passed away in 1996 in Belleville, Illinois where his family had moved back to. 

 Joe Marshall still lives in the St. Louis Area and plays frequently. 

 I moved to LA in 1978 and became assistant to Producer/Engineer Ken Scott. (Superertramp, David Bowie, Elton John) I had the pleasure to work on albums both as a player and or engenering & production with the Dixie Dreggs & Steve Morris, Stanley Clarke, Jeff Beck, Kansas, Supertramp and many orthers including Missing Persons. I was a member in that group briefly. 

 I began writing with David Palmer who had been in Steely Dan as a singer. He also wrote the lyrics to the "Jazzman" album by Carole King. We had a tune in "Fast Times At Ridgemont High" and recorded an album for Warner Bros with Eagles Producer Bill Sczymick. 

 I live in Belleville, Illinois and still compose music including themes for audio visual and broadcast. 

 In 1998 I released a CD & Video: "Live at the Charlotte Convention Center" which was recorded in April 1997 while opening for the Atlanta Rhythm section there.

 I also recently heard from Joe Marshall of Jake Jones. He supplied the following information about the group. 

 Thanks for the information about our band, Jake Jones - I can correct a few details and provide some updated info: 

*** Chuck Sabatino - yes, he died on his 45th birthday, in 1996, after a stroke in 1994 that left him paralyzed - he was due to leave for Portugal when he was stricken. 

*** Joe Marshall - actually, I never owned the nightclub, Timbers, but I did play there between 1984 and 1996 - I now work at St. Louis Music, and still play nearly every weekend, with a group called "The Sloppy Joes", as well as with a weddiing band called "Sundance and Brass". 

*** James Ovid Bilderback - you have the situation right, in that he had a drug problem that he finally dealt with - good luck to him. 

*** Mike Krenski - wrote "The Cheater" in 1965 for Bob Kuban and the In-Men - still flies planes and teaches would-be pilots - worked for McDonnell Douglas/Boeing, last I heard. 

*** Phil Jost - actually I see him nearly every day, as he works at St. Louis Music with me - Phil is now the product manager for Crate Pro Audio - he still plays occasionally with his sisters in a group named "Sibling Rivalry". 

 I know there's a lot I'm leaving out, but thanks for the interest in our band - I have a videotape of a studio session from May of 1972, with Chuck on bass and Barney Biver on drums - I can't believe how young we were - the arrangements were quite complex, as I guess we did a lot of practicing as well as playing at that time. 

 One last fact - our last job was in 1973, opening act for the Eagles, and Dan Fogelberg, in Springfield, Illinois. 

 Thanks to Michael Kladky for supplying the following information about the members of Jake Jones. Chuck Sabatino (flute,vocals) died in L.A. just a few years ago. He was playing with Michael McDonald (Doobie Bros.). Chuck grew up with Michael, they used to skip school together. (McCluer High School in St. Louis, Missouri). Joey Marshall (guitar) used to own a bar down on Laclede's Landing (St. Louis, Missouri) called "Timbers". He also played in the house band there. (He still might?/!) Ovid (drums) quit(??) the band (alcohol and drug problem). He later found Jesus, and joined a Jesus Freak Jazz band. Mike Krenski (bass) quit the band shortly after their first album. (Chuck took over the bass) He was a record producer in L.A. Phil Jost (keyboards) whereabouts are currently unknown. When Jake Jones broke up, they did form another band called "Full Moon Consort" (and released one album) in 1975. They were playing in the St. Louis area for quite a bit..
