I'm not completely sure, but I think, on the Genesis albums "Genesis" and "Invisible Touch" you can find parodies to parts of ""Ark II".
The links between the single parts of "The planets" consist mainly of some kind of strings - I rather believe, they play guitars instead of violins. A similar effect can be heard in the intro of "Illegal Alien", which starts with various sound-samples, for example this one. The other parody might be the beat of "The last Domino". It is also to be found in a kind of 60s-version on one of the songs ( I believe, it is again one of the "Planets"-songs.
